francine j. harris is the author of allegiance (2012), finalist for both the Kate Tufts Discovery Award and the PEN Open Book Award. harris' second collection, Play Dead, is forthcoming from Alice James Books in Spring, 2016. A Cave Canem fellow, harris has taught at the University of Michigan and the Interlochen Arts Academy.
